Have Your Say
Add Your Voice to Shape Public Education
Parents and carers have deep insight into what’s working and what needs to change in ACT public schools. We create simple, accessible ways for you to share your perspective and help shape the issues we advocate for.
You do not need to be an expert. Your experience matters.
There are different ways to contribute, depending on your time, interest and experience.
Some are quick. Others are more involved. All of them help strengthen the collective parent voice. This page focuses on sharing your views on system-level issues, policies, and priorities.
Quick Ways to Contribute
We regularly run short surveys and polls to gather input from parents and carers on specific issues. These help us test priorities, strengthen advocacy and respond quickly to emerging concerns.
The Parent Voice in Your School
Many system-wide issues are first identified through P&Cs. Raising matters through your school’s P&C helps ensure they are considered as part of broader advocacy, not in isolation.
If you are unsure how to contact your school’s P&C, your school can point you in the right direction.
Connecting Your P&C to ACT Parents
Each school P&C appoints a member representative to share what’s happening in their community and bring parent and carer perspectives into ACT-wide conversations about public education.
You don’t need to hold an office bearer or executive role, but you do need to be involved with your P&C and attend its meetings so you can reflect collective views and report back. The role is about listening, sharing and connecting, with support from ACT Parents every step of the way.
Members have access to deeper engagement opportunities, including member-only consultations and forums.
See how parent voice moves from shared experience to real influence.
The Bigger Picture
Your input helps shape our advocacy priorities and the issues we raise on behalf of ACT public school families.
