Why set up a P&C association
A Parents and Citizens (P&C) association gives parents and carers a formal, collective way to support their school and have their voices heard.
It creates a shared space for families to work together, connect with the school and contribute positively to school life. For many school communities, a P&C provides the opportunities for parent involvement.
Why this matters
When parents and carers are connected and organised, schools are stronger.
A P&C:
Without a P&C, parent voices can feel scattered or informal. A P&C brings those voices together in a way that is organised, fair and effective.
A P&C association:

Setting up a formal P&C association provides important protections and clarity.
A properly established P&C:
This helps ensure the P&C is trusted, sustainable and able to operate confidently.

Setting up a P&C doesn’t need to be complicated. With the right support, it’s very achievable.
